Might as well contribute my opinion on this: of course it’s disgusting. However, it’s similar to celebrities who’ve posed with corpses to draw attention to the fur and leather trades. In reality, we should be reacting to leather, fur and indeed meat as a food in the same way.
I doubt she meant to make this point, but it puts meat before our eyes in ways we don’t want it to be. It therefore gives grounds to question why we are disgusted by something we are supposed to eat.
Gaga just did it for shock value, as will continue to be the reason for her existence.
This is more “trying way too hard” and “probably smells fucking terrible” than in any way shocking. Just a thought.
